Program Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be 55 or Older
  • Must Reside in the County in Which You are Applying
  • Must Meet Federal Poverty Income Guidelines & Provide Proof of Income
  • Must be Willing to Seek Permanent Full or Part Time Employment
  • Must be Unemployed

AARP Foundation’s Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) helps make connections between older adults looking to return to the workforce and employers. For more than 45 years, the program has provided Americans 55 and older with opportunities to fill entry-level and mid-level positions with employers in their community.

AARP Foundation SCSEP provides both community services and work-based training for participants. Individuals are placed in a wide variety of activities at non-profit and public facilities.

In addition to job and community service placement, AARP Foundation SCSEP provides participants with training and support services that are important for finding future employment, like Individual Employment Plan (IEP) development, specialized training, wages, annual physicals, assistance in securing future employment and access to local American Job Centers – formerly known as One-Stop Career Centers.

AARP Foundation SCSEP is a federally funded employment and training program. We assist job seekers age 55 and over who meet the federal income guidelines are unemployed and willing to look for work.
